Read the fine print before it reads you.
Paste any contract. Clausewise's legal AI segments every clause, scores the risk from your side of the table, checks it against Nigerian, UK, US or EU law, and drafts a fairer redline you can send back today.

Clausewise reads a contract the way a careful commercial lawyer would: whose side each clause favours, what it costs you in the worst case, and what reasonable looks like where you work.
Paste or drop it in
A full agreement, a single clause, or text copied from a PDF. Tell us which side you're on and which law governs it.
The AI marks it up
Every risky clause is highlighted in place, rated, explained in plain English, and tagged with the model's confidence.
Send the redline
Take the suggested wording, the list of missing protections, and a polite, firm email ready to send to the other side.
Side-aware scoring
The same clause scores differently for a freelancer and a client. Clausewise reads from your seat at the table.
Four jurisdictions
Nigeria, UK, US and EU defaults, such as restraint-of-trade rules, deposit caps and late-payment statutes, inform every rating.
Redlines, not lectures
Every flag comes with replacement wording you can paste straight into the document, not just a warning.
Missing-clause check
The most expensive term is often the one that isn't there. We list the protections your contract leaves out.
Negotiation email
A short, professional message that asks for the changes without souring the relationship. Edit it, copy it, send it.
Playbooks for teams
Agencies set their own red lines once: payment terms, IP, liability. Every review then checks against your house rules.
A legal reasoning pipeline, not a chatbot.
Counsel-2 is a contract-specialised model wrapped in retrieval and guardrails. It never answers from memory alone: every flag is grounded in a quote from your document and a rule from the jurisdiction corpus.
Internal benchmarks, September 2026, on a held-out set reviewed by qualified lawyers in each jurisdiction. Not a guarantee of legal outcomes.
Signed with fewer surprises.
Independent people and small teams use Clausewise before they sign, and again before they send.
It caught that the client owned my templates, not just the logo. I sent the email it wrote and they agreed to a licence the same afternoon.
We moved a retail client from net-90 to 50% upfront using the redline almost word for word. That's three months of cashflow back.
I run every vendor contract through it before legal sees it. Our outside counsel bills are down, and their questions are better.
Cheaper than one hour with a lawyer.

Lawyers and engineers, on your side of the table.
We've drafted, negotiated and been burned by the same clauses you're reading.
Before you sign up.
Is this legal advice?
No. Clausewise is a review tool that helps you spot and understand risk, and gives you fair starting wording. For high-value or unusual deals, use it to prepare, then have a qualified lawyer in your jurisdiction check the final version. You'll spend less time with them.
What happens to the contracts I paste?
Contracts are encrypted in transit and at rest, never used to train models, and deleted from our servers after 30 days unless you save them to your library. Business plans can set retention to zero.
Which countries does it understand?
Nigeria, the UK, the US and the EU today. We apply local defaults such as restraint-of-trade tests, statutory late-payment interest, deposit caps and consumer protections. Canada and South Africa are next.
Can I use it when I'm the one sending the contract?
Yes. Switch "I am the" to Client and Clausewise flags terms that are unenforceable, likely to be challenged, or likely to scare off good suppliers. That's often the fastest way to get a contract signed.
How accurate is the risk score and confidence?
The score reflects how one-sided the contract is against you, weighted by the worst-case cost of each clause. Confidence is the model's calibrated certainty that a clause is risky for you. Both are a guide to where to spend your negotiating energy, not a prediction of how a court would rule.
Does it work on scanned PDFs?
Pro and Business accept PDFs and Word files directly, including scans. On Free, paste the text. Copying from most PDFs works fine.
Your next contract deserves a second reader.
